We are seeking an associate attorney with 1-5 years experience in Immigration law. Fluency in Spanish preferred but not required. The position will require the supervision of three bi-lingual and experienced Immigration paralegals. Presently our practice is oriented toward family immigration, self petitions, and specialized complex immigration matters involving appeals and district court actions. We also have a limited employment immigration practice that focuses on National Interest Waivers and L-Visas. We no longer handle Immigration Court matters, but continue to take appeals to the Board of Immigration Appeals and the Federal Circuit Courts. We also handle a limited number of motions to reopen in front of the Immigration Court. After nearly 25 years of practice we have a mature and well organized Immigration practice that utilizes advanced practice management software that tracks cases and minimizes clerical tasks. We are selective in our cases and most of our work comes from referrals from existing clients.
License to practice in the State of Connecticut or other state jurisdiction. We prefer that attorneys not licensed in Connecticut have the intention to seek admission within the first year of hire. Fluency in Spanish is preferred, but not required. Ability to write competently is required. However, we seek to develop the writing ability all of our employees over time. The position will provide the opportunity to practice appellate writing in a supportive environment.
